What Is a Health Permit, and Do I Need One?

To participate in vending events booked by Roaming Hunger, vendors must provide proof of inspection by their local Health Department. This is normally an annual certificate or sticker to be displayed at your business.

Please make sure you have acquired permits in all states and localities where you plan to vend. If you go to a vending event and do not have the proper permits or licenses, the Health Department may shut you down. This may also result in your removal from the Roaming Hunger platform.

NOTE: This is only a requirement for vending events. Catering events do not require you to upload your health permit... but it couldn't hurt.

You may upload your health permit directly to the Terms & Documents section of your Dashboard:

What counts a health permit?

  • An annual certificate of inspection that you display at your business.
  • An annual sticker attached to your setup to show you've been inspected.
  • An inspection report, with a clear renewal date.

What does not count as a health permit?

  • A ServSafe or individual food handler's permit.
  • A fire safety permit.
  • A renewal receipt (We may accept this for up to one month.)
  • A state tax certificate.

In certain rare cases, such as for pre-wrapped, novelty ice cream vendors, the Health Department may not require a health permit. If this is the case, just let us know.
