Are There Special Requirements for Canada?
Though Roaming Hunger is based in California, USA, we love working with vendors in Canada. The event booking process is the same no matter where you are in the world, but there are some key differences in our system that Canadian vendors should note:
Standards of Measure
At this time, our system can only accommodate United States customary units. If you are updating the Services page on your Dashboard, please convert kilometers to miles using a free online tool like this one.
Document Requirements
Vendors in the USA are required to upload a Form W-9 to their Dashboard. This does not apply to vendors who work exclusively in Canada. You should see a filler document already added to your account when you log in. If not, please email vendors@roaminghunger.com.
If, and only if, you do an event on the US side of the border, you may be required to submit a W-8BEN form, which you can download here.
Payments
Our payment schedule is the same for all vendors worldwide (Tuesdays and Thursdays). Setting up payments has some special rules for Canadian vendors:
Sales Tax
You do not need to enter a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN). This is only required for USA-based vendors. Instead, enter your GST/HST or QST in the field where it says "State/Local Sales Tax ID."
When you apply to an event, please calculate sales tax into your package subtotal so we can compensate you. See below:
Payment Method
At this time, we only offer one form of payment for events in Canada: eCheques. These are printable cheques that we send you by email. Access the cheque by clicking a secure link in your email then print it like a normal document. You may deposit it at your bank like a normal cheque.
All Canadian bank chains should accept eCheques; if one branch does not, please try a different branch.
