What Is a Minimum Guarantee?

A minimum guarantee the least amount you should expect to make in sales at a vending event. It is based on how many people the host expects to eat from trucks at their event.

If you meet or exceed the minimum guarantee amount, then the event went exactly as planned. If sales fall short—bad weather, for instance—you would be compensated to meet the posted minimum amount.

Important Things to Know

Host Managed Events

All agreements and minimum guarantees must be confirmed directly with the host. Roaming Hunger is not able to enforce payment of minimum guarantees for Host Managed events.

Minimum guarantees are per vendor. Keep this in mind as you enter negotiations with the host on a Host Managed vending event.

Events Booked by Roaming Hunger

Roaming Hunger is responsible for paying you a minimum guarantee, when applicable, on events that we have booked. To be eligible for payment, you must complete the following items:

You must submit all required paperwork, including a W-9 and sales tax number.
Submit a final sales report from your POS system to your Event Coordinator. It must include:
- Net Sales
- Discounts (if applicable)

The schedule for receiving minimum guarantee compensation is wholly dependent on the host. Unlike catering events, where the hosts pay us in full upfront, payment may take longer with vending events because:

We must collect and deliver to the host all sales reports from all participating vendors.
The client must review and agree with all submitted sales reports.
The client must pay us the agreed upon amounts so we can process minimum guarantees.

We may wait up to 30 days to receive payment from the host before paying you out of pocket. Please be patient. If we're managing the event, you will get paid.

Scenario 1 (Host Managed)

The host offers a minimum guarantee of $1,000, and you make $1,500 in sales. You have exceeded the minimum guarantee, and the host would not pay you any extra.

Scenario 2 (Host Managed)

The host offers a minimum guarantee of $1,000, and you make $500 in sales. By agreement, the host would pay you an additional $500 to meet that $1,000 minimum.
