How Do I Report an Overage If I Serve Extra Guests?

Sometimes, an event host will invite more guests than they originally estimated. When this happens, this is called an overage. Getting reimbursed for overages works differently depending on the type of catering event you're attending:

  • Host Managed: You may bill the host onsite for any additional servings.
  • Booked by Roaming Hunger: Contact your Event Coordinator right away before you serve anyone beyond the original guest count. Your Event Coordinator will negotiate with and bill the host for those overages to ensure you are properly compensated. If you don't do this, you might not be compensated for the overage.

Once you've talked to your Event Coordinator, and they've given you the all-clear, start a tally of all overages served until the guest count runs out. Send your report to your Event Coordinator, and they will collect the extra payment from the host. The sooner you do this, the more quickly and efficiently we can collect that overage amount.

We will pay you the overage once we've received payment from the host. This may take longer than your original payment, depending on the client's responsiveness.
