Can I Cancel My Application for a Catering Event?

It is possible to cancel or withdraw from a catering event under specific circumstances. Before applying, please read the event details carefully and check your business calendar for any conflicts. The event will post on your profile for 48 hours, so you have time to think about it if there may be a conflict.

Below are some ways to withdraw your application for a catering event:

The event is "Waiting on Client"

Once you apply for an event, you have committed to wait 96 hours (4 days) for the client to review your application. During this time, you may not withdraw from the event.

If the event is still "Waiting on Client" after 96 hours, a Cancel my bid button will appear on the lead, letting you withdraw your application without penalty.

It's an emergency!

Life can come at you fast. If you must withdraw from a catering for a family emergency, natural disaster, or vehicle breakdown, notify your Event Coordinator as soon as possible. Their contact information is posted on the event lead, as illustrated below.

If the event is Host Managed, please notify the host as well. Communication is key, and we ask that you give us as much time as possible to coordinate a substitution. Let us know when you are able to cater again.

Penalties for non-emergency cancellation

Once you are Confirmed for a catering event, you have committed to provide service at that event. Please double-check your calendar for conflicts before applying, and give yourself plenty of time to prepare for traffic and weather.

If you withdraw or do not attend a Confirmed catering event, and the reason is not an emergency, you are subject to penalties itemized in our Vendor Catering Agreement. For a refresher, you may view the Agreement at any time on the Terms & Documents page of your Dashboard.
